Laurie Madigan

Laurie Madigan is a Partner in Madigan Consulting, Inc. – a public policy firm specializing in land use and infrastructure planning, community outreach and political policy strategies. Ms. Madigan has been involved in planning, economic development and community outreach work since 1975, working both for the public sector and with the public sector representing private clients. Public sector jobs have included serving as Executive Officer of the San Diego Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), Chief of Policy for the Mayor of San Diego, and both Community Development Director and Assistant City Manager for the City of Chula Vista.

Prior to joining her husband – Mike Madigan – at Madigan Consulting, Ms. Madigan founded two successful planning and public policy consulting firms: MNA Consulting, and LJM Planning and Public Policy, Inc. Through these venues Ms. Madigan and her staff worked with cities, special districts and developers to author numerous planning and policy studies and to provide project management to private and public entities, including organizing and shepherding land use entitlements through governmental processes. She also served as the contract Executive Director for both the San Diego Alliance for Habitat Conservation, a non-profit group intimately involved in the development of the regional San Diego Multiple Species Conservation Plan, and the San Diego Business Leadership Alliance, a coalition of business organizations seeking to strengthen the voice of business on regional policy issues.

In addition to her public policy and outreach work, Ms. Madigan is an Adjunct Professor in the Urban Studies and Political Science Program at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California Berkeley and holds a Masters in Public Administration from San Diego State University.
