Joanne Corday Kozberg serves as Principal-in-Charge of the Los Angeles office at California Strategies, a public affairs consulting firm.
Kozberg has an extensive history in public service and leadership. She was a Co-Chair of Governor Schwarzenegger’s California Performance Review Commission, and was a member of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s transition team. She was the Executive Director of the Coro Foundation in Southern California and the Southern California Director of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund. From 1999 through 2002, Kozberg served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Music Center of Los Angeles County. From 1993 to 1998, she served as California’s Secretary of State and Consumer Services under Governor Pete Wilson. She also served as the Chair of the California Arts Council from 1988 to 1991.
Kozberg is a Trustee of the J. Paul Getty Trust and a Director of the California Community Foundation. She recently completed a 12-year term as a Regent of the University of California and is now Regent Emeritus.
Kozberg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Arts degree in public policy from Occidental College. She is also a graduate of the Coro Fellowship program.
She lives in Los Angeles and has two grown children.
