We caught up with Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom earlier this week at the “Forum on How Government Can Evolve to Harness the Digital Age Revolution” and asked him a few questions about the importance of Open Data to California’s future prosperity. Just having written his book “Citizenville: How to Take the Town Square Digital and Reinvent the Government,” he had many progressive ideas on how to overhaul California’s state government infrastructure to modernize it for 21st Century demands.

Rebuilding our state’s economy and restoring Californians’ faith in government are concerns paramount to us at California Forward and we were happy to see Lt. Gov. Newsom sharing those goals and offering solutions that go beyond incremental tweaks yet are wholly feasible if we all adopt the same, outside-the-box approach.
